Blog Marathon - Post 10 - Unexpectedly!

I have started the Blog Marathon with great enthusiasm, but there are days when I am not able to write on the blog, though I have the idea and thought. So today I am filling the backlog. In quick succession. The day is bright, sunny. And it's the month of February, which should ideally be the coldest month of the year in Europe. But unexpectedly the temperatures have been in positive in February and the sun is also visiting us often. I can't complain. This is the best thing for me. It brings happiness and joy for me to be not wandering in cold and grey weather. Everybody is finally waiting for warm weather and the month of February is a good surprise for everyone! The weather is unexpectedly warm with temperatures touching almost 13 degrees Celsius.

We have certain fixed ideas about things and people and circumstances and we always expect things or people to behave or go in a certain way. But life is not always linear, it has curves, ups, and downs. When we experience something which is not expected or which is not according to our ideas, we either get extremely surprised and happy or very dejected and sad. Some people always want a predictable and secure life and when something doesn't happen the way they see things, they feel threatened. On the other hand, there are people who don't plan their life and live life as it comes. For them, every day may bring surprises and challenges and they take it in their stride. I wonder what really catches them unaware or blows them off completely. What things do they consider as "unexpected" and suddenly experience them!? Which type of person are you?

Getting out of the house without an umbrella and suddenly rain catching you unawares!
Walking in a small town in a foreign country and meeting your school friend there!
Sitting in a train while passing by, small kids waving at you who don't even know you!
Asking for one scoop of your favorite ice-cream and getting two at the same cost!

Life is beautiful, isn't it?

Expect the unexpected. Surprises bring double-fold joy!

The dilemma

My mother-in-law left for Pune today after spending two and a half months with us in Germany. And suddenly the house seems empty without her...
