Picture Challenge - 4

It snowed today again. T and I walked to school in the morning with a flurry of snow touching our faces and hands. T wore leather hand gloves today so that he can play in the snow later in school. We made little snowballs and hurled at each other. After coming back, I sat watching the snow from my window. I counted my blessings. I had a heater in the home and a sofa where I could just sit, doing nothing, just looking outside. I remembered that John had asked me to select a photo from the ones he had sent last week for the next picture challenge. It was my choice this week to decide what to pick. He gave me that liberty this week.

थंडे थंडे पानी से नहाना चाहिये

It's snowing outside. A thin white sheet has spread over the place. The trees are covered with snow too. The temperatures are running in minus for a week now even in the morning. And what could probably happen, early in the morning when T is rushing for his school and A to his office, which gives you a jolt in the cozy heated house and literally sends shivers up your skin? The warm water has stopped coming in the basin and in the shower and the bathroom has literally only chilled water running from the tap. We frantically try to check the main water tap connection, they are working fine. We run to the kitchen to check if there is a problem in there, but thankfully there is hot water in the kitchen tap. Now, what's the agenda?

Fuck Tradition. Go Vegan

It was my husband's 40th birthday on 16.01.2019. But he was away on a business trip to another continent. So T and I decided to go for dinner to celebrate his birthday. T loves to eat with chopsticks and so we decided to go to a Thai restaurant to have dinner. He returned from school at about 4:15 pm. We dropped the school bag home and wanted to take a bus to go to the city center where the restaurant was located. As we were waiting for the bus, I saw a young girl standing nearby with a cotton bag which read "Fuck Tradition. Go vegan". That caught my attention and blew my mind. It lingered on in my mind since then and I wanted to write about it and I finally managed to do it today, after almost 10 days.

Picture Challenge - 3

John sent me the photo for the next Picture challenge in the last week itself. But I didn't get time to sit down and write about it. He must be waiting for my response wondering what happened to my enthusiasm to do a picture challenge every week without fail. But here I am, stealing some time in the evening while talking to my son. He is asking me about some crossword puzzle and I am dictating him something and writing this post simultaneously.

The story of the Gohonzon

The new year 2019 started on a good note. Snow ringing in and with a positive note, I experienced something which was very profound and brought a new phase in my life. I have been happier, satisfied and full of energy and enthusiasm from that day I received my Gohonzon. Read on to read about it in detail.

Coincidences

I have always believed that every day that you experience, brings you some or the other surprise if you keep your eyes and hearts open. And they may be sometimes pleasant and sometimes unpleasant. Something happens which you haven't imagined and you are left astounded by the very circumstances. Something similar happened to me recently and it is related to my mother's school friend who turned out to be the mother-in-law of a very good friend whom I met here in Karlsruhe. Can you imagine? Read along to get pleasantly surprised and I am sure it will bring a smile to your face.

Happy new year 2019

Yesterday the whole world ushered in the new year and the internet was flooded with messages and wishes and resolutions. Though it is the beginning of a new English year, the whole world celebrates it as if it is one. There are various continents and countries and they might have their own new year according to the lunar calendar, but on this day particularly everyone celebrates without any differences and we all become similar for a moment.

The dilemma

My mother-in-law left for Pune today after spending two and a half months with us in Germany. And suddenly the house seems empty without her...
