It is almost 4 p.m. and I still don't have any topic to write on. Thinking
of all options, possibilities, but no, nothing is coming to me today. And there
comes a mail from my dear friend John, who is sitting in the other corner of
the world and has sent his blog post as promised. Today he has written about
his experience in the new city, about how he is trying to blend with other
people who are like him, away from home and country, trying to make a life there.
He says there is so much diversity in Toronto, yet everybody is existing there
in peace, without problems. Thanks John, I have something to write on these
lines today.
In the movie Piku, Amitabh Bacchhan paints the globe in white as he has no other topic to present in the project class. And his work is applauded and awarded. The thought behind that globe is interpreted as a world with no boundaries. A world where one can go without a passport, without being frisked or regarded as a suspect. A world which welcomes people of all sizes, shapes, color, religion without being judgmental. A world which is open to all to come and settle and contribute. How wonderful it would be, isn't it?
The currency would not be a problem. One can use a standard currency which is the same everywhere. One single language which is spoken and understood by all. One type of food, clothing and shelter and one mode of communication. But then I think, man will easily get bored with too much of familiarity and the adventure of trying new city or a country would cease. Experience would be the same everywhere and then how will be learn and grow and make different memories? How will he realize that there is a world which is spread across time zones and across thousands of kilometers and each city and each country and the inhabitants have different stories to share and tell? Cuisine, folk dance, music and the people are strong pillars of any culture and how bland life would be if we all ate the same food, sang the same songs and danced in the same manner.
A white globe is certainly not a good idea. A globe should have all the colors, blue (water) green (trees) and white (mountains and clouds) and most important the color and fragrance of the people residing in each and every part. With understanding, love, affection for each other. For the sake of humanity and for the sake of mankind.

Am glad I could give you an idea for your write up. And this write up is an interesting one. What you say is so true... we need a world with colours not just plain black and white.
